HB 36 - Alcoholic Offenses - Harwell - Permits law enforcement officer to require both alcohol and drug test if reasonable grounds driver has committed alcohol related driving offense; imposes $100 BAC fee on each person convicted to be used by TBI to hire forensic scientists for increased number of tests.

HB 1095 - Consumer Protection - McMillan and Harwell - Requires person who accepts credit or debit cards for business transactions to truncate all but last five numbers and expiration date on cardholder copy in same manner as required by federal Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003.

HB 664 - Open Meetings - Harwell  - Extends authorization to allow participation in meetings by electronic means to apply to municipal governing bodies in addition to state boards, agencies and commissions.

HB 2122 - Tort Liability Reform - Overbey and Harwell - Changes certain procedures relative to medical malpractice including defining noneconomic damages; placing $250,000 recovery cap on such damages in certain cases; providing for certain future awards to be made in periodic payments; establishing a scale for percentage of judgment that can go to attorney fees; and providing possible damages for frivolous lawsuits.
